STRATEGIC APPOINTMENTS KEEP DINGO AHEAD
Two key strategic appointments have been made at the Dingo Australia head office to keep the company on the front foot in the competitive hire and retail sectors.
The new position of General Manager – Wholesale Division has been filled by Peter Smethurst while the position of General Manager – Retail Division has been taken by Mark Chittick, both of whom have enviable records and industry know-how.
Peter’s role will be diverse, ranging from managing distribution to the Dingo Australia branch network while also having a significant role in operations at the Dingo factory.
With a mechanical background and years of industry experience, his appointment is a strategic masterstroke by Managing Director Gary Briggs.
“Peter ran his own workshop for 13 years and hired Dingo machines out to his customers,” Gary said.
“He’s also been in the Dingo Australia branch network for over five years so he knows the business from end-to-end. His strengths in logistics, service and relationship management, coupled with his mechanical knowledge, make Peter very valuable in helping me keep Dingo at the forefront of the industry.”
Maintaining market leader position was also the impetus behind appointing Mark to the General Manager – Retail Division role in June. Mark has served as president of the HRIA, amongst other key positions, and was the Queensland Manager for Dingo Australia for over five years.
Mark has also just finished two-and-a-half years in Business Development at a leading hire company. His impressive resume left Gary delighted to have him back at Dingo Australia.
“Mark’s focus will be on building stronger relationships with the hire industry, and in particular providing business solutions for our clients in this industry. He’s equipped with a thorough understanding of how the hire industry works.
“We never stop listening and learning at Dingo and we’re aware that tomorrow’s business will be driven by companies who have a passion for the industry and can offer sustainable business solutions based on trust and mutual respect.
“Mark’s career has consistently produced outstanding results in these key areas. These qualities are particularly dear to us as an Australian company, and Mark will be reinforcing that both internally and out in the market place,” Gary concluded.
