Topic: Unleaded Fuel changes to E10

There seems to be a trend here in NSW that unleaded fuel will soon become unavailable and it will be down to E-10 or premium unleaded..Can anyone tell me if E10 will effect the k9-3 or will i have to run it on premium (Hope not).Or is there an engine mod that has to be done to run E10.??

Re: Unleaded Fuel changes to E10

i am pretty sure all petrol engines dingo use are able to run with no problems on e10. bio diesel is another ball park though i believe bio diesel can be run but is not recomended and by the time you add up the savings in price per litre compared to the increase in fuel filter changes i reckon you would be behind the 8 ball. but yeah e10 should cause you no drama's

Kohler says 10% ethanol blend is ok on their website.

I use it from time to time with no noticeable difference.

Re: Unleaded Fuel changes to E10

Ethanol should not cause any problems in a motor.  But there can be other issues.  It has been proven that Ethanol can cause a softening in some rubbers.  This can affect Dingo the same as any other manufacturer.  We have noted that ordinary petrol does not affect the rubber gromets that secure the fuel pipe into the tank.  But ethanol blends can soften the gromet and create a fuel leak. We have now changed the gromets to a different composition.  If you have soft gromets, change them before they become a problem.

True Gary I have had to replace the fuel tank grommet as it did soften & leaked
Never thought the ethanol was the culprit.
Its all good now.
